Fashion

Clothing is never optional. Even when you are in 90 degree heat, dancing your ass off for 10 hours for 3 days straight.

Last years Coachella festival yielded quite the looks. Swimsuits, maxi dresses, shorts, tanks and even the occasional girl who thought it was ok to paint her body and run around in nothing but shorts. Well, it wasn’t ok. And this years festival is no different.

I have completed a few outfits below that are minimal enough to keep you cool, but still leave something to the imagination. Enjoy.

The Internet has given us some really amazing things. Some recent gems are P’Trique of Shit Fashion Girls Say breaking down spring trends and Matchbook Mag’s Tumblr, which is always right on point. Try not to reblog, I dare you. If you hadn’t yet stumbled upon these pieces of Internet gold, YOU ARE WELCOME.

However, of all the things the Internet has bestowed upon us in its relatively short history, I am most thankful for online shopping. In short, I am addicted fan. The shopping scene in my city is beyond depressing, so I’m willing to forgive the occasional sizing fiasco and shipping fees.

Filling up my “shopping cart” with online finds I have no intention of actually buying has become a thrilling past time. I have long considered shopping a hobby. There are few things that get me more excited than looking through InStyle or Lucky magazine and getting inspired by the beautiful outfits. So being able to shop from my bedroom?? It could only get better if the moment I hit purchase, the piece just magically appeared in my closet.

Anyhow, today when I hopped over to Nasty Gal‘s website for some innocent browsing. I hit the online shopper’s version of a jackpot! A special treasure discount, just for me! 60% off this little white mesh dress.

At $48 bucks I wouldn’t have been able to justify this one. White can be tricky. Combine that with mesh and the mini-ness of this mini… it could be trouble. But take the price down to $19.20 and suddenly I’m feeling like I can make this work.

Well, here’s hoping. I’ll keep you posted as to how this one turns out. In the meantime, Nasty Gal is hosting a contest where you could potentially win the entire collection they collaborated on with MinkPink. Go, go!
